Welcome to my site. Here at A Curious Bee, I document my adventures in travel, experiences, and more. Welcome to the hive—see ya around!
I’m Ashley— the author of ACuriousBee.
Fun fact: Did you know that bees are very curious by nature? Yep! In fact, studies have found that certain bees in a colony show consistently high levels of exploratory behavior. These “scouts” have a pattern of gene activity in their brains that are known to be associated with novelty-seeking in humans.
So why share that fact? In college, I got dubbed with the nickname “Queen Bee”. (Cliche I know but there’s a good story behind it, I promise: Homecoming Queen!) . The nickname evolved as well, given my initials: AB—> AB(ee). Yep, pun intended. I was constantly daydreaming about ALL the places in the world I just HAVE to see. And with my new learned (and interesting!) knowledge about bees, alas, ACuriousBee was born.
I am a Tennessee-raised millennial trying to successfully survive adulting. Currently living in Atlanta, Georgia—I have been able to explore my love of life and travel (that’s why you’re here right?!). I love talking travel, planning, exploring, and just being “on the go”! I think cultures are the most beautiful thing and believe it’s what binds us. I live by the motto to “Stay Curious”. I hope this blog inspires you to explore new places.
